Winback reads subscription events from RevenueCat or Stripe, and writes messages you can send from the email tool you already use. Each card below says exactly what is read, and what is not. Winback never writes to your billing system.
Where the data comes from
During early access we connect the webhook with you by hand. To try it first with nothing connected, upload an export to the planner; it runs in your browser and uploads nothing.
RevenueCat
Reads: webhook events CANCELLATION, EXPIRATION, BILLING_ISSUE, INITIAL_PURCHASE, RENEWAL and UNCANCELLATION. From each event: app user id, product id, period type (to spot trials), store, price and currency, and event and expiry times. An email address only if you store one as a subscriber attribute.
Planner: a RevenueCat customer export.
Never: changes subscriptions, grants access or creates offers.
Stripe Billing
Reads: webhook events invoice.payment_failed, invoice.paid, customer.subscription.updated and customer.subscription.deleted. From each: customer id, customer email, price, interval, subscription status, cancel and trial end dates.
Planner: a Stripe subscriptions export.
Never: creates coupons, changes subscriptions or issues refunds. You create any coupon yourself.
App Store: win-back offers
Reads: nothing from Apple. Winback does not connect to App Store Connect. You give us your win-back offer URL and the eligibility rules you set (paid duration, time since lapse, wait between redemptions). App Store subscription events reach Winback through RevenueCat.
Does: puts the offer URL in messages to people your rules cover. Offers need iOS 18+ and StoreKit 2 (source).
App Store: Retention Messaging
Reads: nothing. Guide only Winback does not answer Apple's Retention Messaging calls today.
What it is: your message, image and optional offer on the iOS cancel screen; your server must answer within 700 ms; approval required (source).
Google Play: developer-determined offers
Reads: nothing from Google directly. Google Play subscription events reach Winback through RevenueCat, the same as App Store events.
Does: if you set up an offer in Play Console whose eligibility your app decides, Winback's segments tell you who to show it to. Billing failures are 31% of Play cancellations against 14% on the App Store (RevenueCat SOSA 2026).
Email tools that take a CSV
Reads: nothing. Winback writes; your email tool sends. The planner exports a CSV with one row per person: their address, segment, the personal message and their unique return code.
Works with: Resend, Postmark, Loops, Customer.io, Mailchimp, or any tool that can import a CSV and print a custom field in a template.

See who you could win back this month
Upload a RevenueCat or Stripe export to the planner. It sorts lost subscribers into cancelled, billing failed and trial expired, writes one message per person with a unique return code, and gives you a CSV. Files stay in your browser. Want us to set it up with you instead? Early access is open, and you pay nothing until someone comes back.
